Life bears down upon your shoulders,
weighing you down,
into a dark abyss so unbelievable.
Seemingly no way out of the hole,
you dig it deeper,
by losing your gleam of hope.
Black days are there my friend,
with your eyes open,
the blackness smothers your heart.
Empty bottles on the table of life,
lead to empty promises,
burying you in relentless desperation.
No mythical blue birds of happiness,
just messengers of doom,
bearing bad news in an already bad life.
Restless sleep wearing you down,
naysayers growing stronger,
only saving grace, the cross around your neck.
