"A Journey Down The Wrong Path"

Updated: Dec 11, 2020

As children of the 1960's

growing up knowing not  of

Game boy, x-box or i phones,

they used their imaginations.

to create magical kingdoms

and baseball until dark,

Hearts, souls and minds of humanity,

not how many kills or bonus points

they can rack up.

They roamed free

like wild mustangs of the open range

of the west,

taking in the sights and sounds.

Their parent's lessons

where they learned how to live life,

don't talk to strangers,

don't get in a stranger's car,

don't take candy from strangers.

Since the inception of video games,

milk carton children are now

an entire wall at your local Wal-Mart.

Sometimes memories

of what could have been,

lack of listening skills.

Children listen to the

green of the computer screen,

instead of taking heed

to parental prophets.

A common sense approach

to human survival,

on the latest video craze

leads to the demise

of a childhood dream.

To grow old in a white picket fence

way of life, gone the way of the dinosaurs,

and roads paved with yellow bricks. . .
